ABOUT

Once upon a time, a baby girl was born in the heart of a big old place called Texas. This baby grew into a little girl who loved visiting far away places through the pages of books.

She sailed around the world in a hot air balloon, experienced life on the prairie as a pioneer child, learned to survive on a deserted island, solved mysteries with the Hardy brothers, Trixie Belden, and Nancy Drew, and made friends with another little girl by the name of Anne...and all of this through books!

In second grade, she made an amazing discovery.

Not only could she visit these magical places and people through the stories of others, she could also create them.

But life intervened. Her writing in high school and college was all about essays and term papers and newspaper articles. Then as a young mother, life revolved around her children and teaching career.

But at long last, one day she woke up to an empty nest. About that same time, difficult life events reminded her that no one was guaranteed another breath or heart beat. If she was going to follow her dream of writing a book, now was the time.

She snatched up every book she could find on the craft of writing. She studied them, highlighting passages and dog-earing pages, taking notes as though back in college. At that same time, she began to write a story set in a small Texas town called Miller's Creek.

Her hard work paid off.

In 2009, her first book TEXAS ROADS became an American Christian Fiction Writer's Genesis contest finalist. Shortly thereafter, the book was published, followed by several other stories set in Miller's Creek, a Christmas novella, and a few Bible studies and devotional books.

More chapters in her life continue to be written--some blissful and full of joy, others full of heartache and loss. But each one brings her closer to the final chapter of happily-ever-after, forever in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
